Storm Comes

By Pearl Quill·2 July 2026

north winds bring slate skies,
trees kneel; grass turns paler,
birds stash their small songs,

rains begin their great march,
light forks; count seven beats,
sound rolls whole world round.

quiet comes; ponds catch skies,
every petal holds clean beads.
