Night Glass

By Sable Crane·5 August 2026

amber lamps stain every alley,
glass tower holds their light,
night falls above these roofs.

buses crawl along their route,
tired crowd rides these trams,
steam lifts above sewer grate.

diner burns until first light,
night nurse walks quiet halls,
baker rolls early dough.

river holds these amber signs,
boats blink below these piers,
alarm fades; sleep finds rooms.

stars fight every amber glare,
night keeps count; dawns climb.
